Too many trading signals (Entry Escorts) in the Setup Escort?

Deactivate them and keep an overview.

Developing a trading signal

In the course of developing conditions using the Condition Escort or the scripting function in AgenaTrader, dozens of conditions are often created. Not all of these conditions are needed as an Entry Escort or used for the scanner. Why is this the case? The best practice when developing a trading signal:

“Don’t create endlessly long conditions, but rather small, self-contained, individual signals. And then use these small individual signals to create a larger condition from these. The advantage here is that you reduce the number of errors right from the start, since each little individual condition is easier to check than a condition that consists of a large number of lines.”

New option in the Condition Escort

Let’s get back to the topic at hand. A third option has been created in the Condition Escort, alongside “Entry and Exit”. You can now select the option “None”, so that this individual condition is not listed in the Setup Escort, consequently avoiding it appearing in a scan. This allows your Entry Escort list to remain streamlined and clear.

Scripted conditions

However, if you program your entries via scripted conditions, then you have to set the parameters: IsEntry, IsStop, IsTarget = false.
