About the MetaTrader 5 Connector
The MetaTrader 5 Trading Platform supports operations with different asset classes, including Forex and Futures.
With MetaTrader 5, your traders are equipped with convenient and powerful trading functionality. The flexible trading system with Market Depth and support for all order types enables traders to execute any trading strategy on any financial market. The platform provides the netting system for trading exchange instruments and the hedging option for full-fledged Forex trading.
In addition to the outstanding trading functions, you can offer professional technical and fundamental analysis tools to your traders. The platform ecosystem includes an impressive set of tools and services, through which your traders can use trading robots, copy deals of other traders, trade from mobile devices, and any web browser. All these features are available in MetaTrader 5.
Important! MT5 Connector supports only Non-Hedged accounts. Before you start please clarify with your broker if your broker account is assigned to a non-hedged account group
Important! The maximum number of realtime charts in MT5 is 100.
However please keep in mind, that it does not exactly equal to the number of max real-time subscription in AgenTrader.
It can be less in following cases:
- Open charts with different timeframes for the same instrument;
- Open charts manually, so MtApi5 expert is not present on those charts;
- Open charts with MtApi5 expert however for the instruments, that AgenaTrader is not subscribed to
Connection settings in AgenaTrader
In order to start the connection process please download and install MetaTrader 5. Please find the download link here
- Please go to Account Connection and click the Add button.
- In open dialog please select MetaTrader5 Connector as a Provider and enter a Connection name
- After pressing Next, please select in the field MT5 Location your MT5 location path.
- In the field MT5 DataFolder please select your MT5 Data Folder location path.
In order to find MT5 DataFolder location please use one of the options:
- Open MetaTrader5 -> use hotkey: Ctrl+Shift+D
- Open MetaTrader 5 ->File-> Open Data Folder
By default MetaTrader 5 Data directory located at C:\Users\UserName\AppData\Roaming\MetaQuotes\Terminal\DataFolder name
- In case you want to run the MT5 terminal please activate the checkbox Run MT5 Terminal on connect. Please activate Close MT5 Terminal on disconnect in order to close MT5 terminal on disconnection.
1.Select Trade Server
Important! You can connect to any trading server just type your Server name in the Trade Server field. Please notice that the Trade Server name is key sensitive and must be equal to the server name in the MT5 platform
2.Enter the MT5 Account- Login for your trade server
3.Enter the MT5 Account- Password for your trade server
If you leave the checkbox Run MT5 Terminal on connect disabled, it means that you have MT5 running on a server or a virtual machine. In this case, you should enter Host, Expert Port and Server Port instead of Trade Server, Login and Password.
And click button Next.
- Finally in the next dialog please select your MetaTrader5 Connector-Broker and click the Finish button
MTApi5 installation
After finishing the MT5 connection setup in AgenaTrader you need to install MTAPI5.
It starts automatically during the first connection to the MT5 Connector:
- In open dialog please click the Next button
- Activate the checkbox I accept the terms in the License Agreement and click the Next button
- Select Typical setup
- Click the Install button (needs Admin rights)
- To finish the installation process please select the Finish button.
After finishing the installation process AgenaTrader will try to start the restart process. Please click the Yes button.
